John Claude Blatt

John was born February 15, 1945 in Eaton Rapids, MI to Francis and Helen (Collins) Blatt. In 1971 he married Carolyn Hess. John worked in vending most of his career. He was involved in the East Muskegon Little League, Boy Scouts, Muskegon Big Red Band, and was the chairman for the first three Music in Motion marching band competitions in Muskegon. He enjoyed the Scottville Clown Band, West Michigan Winds, McGraft Park concerts, his Florida friends at Travel World, and attending his grandchildren’s sports and other activities. John’s greatest joy was his family. He was an outgoing, busy, active, easygoing father, husband, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

John is survived by: his wife, Carolyn; children, Robert Todd (Michelle), Stacey (Curtis) Beard, Jonathon (Veronica), and Susan (Dennis) Denning; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia Riley and Clara Finney; twin brothers, Robert and Paul; and his favorite dog, Ozzie.

Cremation will take place and a private celebration of the life John lived will take place in the spring of 2023.
