Kathleen I. “Kay” Bowden, 91, of Twin Lake, Michigan, passed away Thursday evening, October 10, 2013. She was born in Piedmont, Missouri on October 12, 1921, daughter of the late Asa Lee and Bessie Susan (Tucker) Clark. She grew up in St. Louis, MO, and has been a resident of Twin Lake since 1984. Kay married William F. “Bill” Bowden in Crown Point, IN, on November 12, 1942. He died March 21, 2000. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, sewing, tending her flowers, dancing, and camping. She loved listening to Lawrence Welk and his orchestra. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Kinney and Melba Lozano; a son, John E. Bowden; 9 grandchildren; 15 great, grand-children; 2 great, great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn (Mabel) Clark. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Louise (Bill) Rice. The funeral service for Kathleen Bowden will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon, MI, 49442, with Rev. Bill Rudd officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until time of service.
