Marie was a member of the Muskegon Church of Christ. A woman of tremendous faith, Marie taught Sunday School for many years and visited folks with her husband, a church Elder. Family was incredibly important to Marie, and she cherished the times her family would get together. When they were together, Marie was known to make delicious Sunday pot roast, baked beans, and pies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie, son John Thomas Colbert, granddaughter Stephanie, and her brothers and sister.
She is survived by her daughters: Brenda (Willie) Gregson, Donna (Toney) Romans; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend Peggy Hartman and Brent Hartman.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel in Muskegon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00am at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel in Muskegon. Tim Bryson will be officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens
