Martha Louise Plekes

Martha Louise Plekes, age 53, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born on February 10, 1970, to John Joseph Plekes, Jr., and Jean Marie Johnson. Martha's journey through life was marked by love, compassion, and a deep devotion to her family and faith.

Martha graduated from Holton High School in 1988, and from that point forward, she embraced life with an unwavering spirit. She had a special place in her heart for games and enjoyed every opportunity to play, creating lasting memories with family and friends. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the dedication she showed at her church, where her presence and warmth touched the lives of many.

Martha was a remarkably caring person, exemplifying kindness in all her actions. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, and she devoted herself to the care of her parents, especially her mother. Her selflessness and commitment to family were truly remarkable, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew her.

Martha is survived by her loving parents, John and Jean Plekes, her brother Dennis (Tara) Plekes, and her cherished nieces and nephews: David, Kolten, Kaleb, Karley, and Taela. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she held dear. In the tapestry of her family, Martha wove threads of love, laughter, and enduring connections.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and Maxine Plekes, and Dennis and Martha Johnson, as well as her uncle Bill and Pete (Karen) Waalkens.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 24th at Oak Crest Church, located at 1540 Leonard Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442, at 1:30 pm. The visitation will be followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm, with a luncheon to follow.
