Mary B. Armstrong Cole

Mary B. Cole, aged 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Mary was born in the spring of 1926 in Centerville, Tennessee to the late William and Betty Armstrong. She was the oldest of 10 daughters. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 69 1/2 years, AC Cole, her sisters Margie Chamberlain, Jo Bryson, Peggy French, Tommie Armstrong and Rebecca Armstrong. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Don (Connie) Cole, Stella (Bob) Luce, Ivan (Paula) Cole, her grandchildren Joe Luce, Julie Luce Bos, Adam (Kathleen) Cole, Renee (Charlie) Pleimling, Jennifer Kolb, Nathan (Lindsay) Cole, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her sisters Roberta Childress, Betty French, Martha McCarthy, Lana Ashley, sister-in-law Golder Benson, brother-in-law Bill French, many nieces and nephews as well as her extended family. Mary was a tireless worker retiring from Breneman-Hartshorn after many years of service. She was a lifelong faithful Christian, worshipping with her church family at Evanston Avenue Church of Christ and Muskegon Church of Christ. Mary was a loving and faithful caregiver, especially to her husband. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Mary will be remembered most for her unconditional love for her family and her selflessness. She enjoyed singing and listening to music, especially gospel and country. Her passions included camping, sewing, quilt making, gardening and being a baseball fan. Nothing made Mary happier than family gatherings, especially cooking for them and playing cards. The family would like to thank the staff of Christian Care and Harbor Hospice for the loving care given to Mary. Mary’s Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel from 2-5pm. A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 12 NOON on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the funeral home, with an addition hour of visitation prior.
