Mary Lou Hoffmeyer

Mary was born on May 12, 1940, the daughter of Alfred and Dorothy Olson. She married Arnold Hoffmeyer on July 1, 1961. Together they were blessed with 53 years of marriage until his death in 2014. She was a member of TOPS and many bowling leagues throughout the years. She enjoyed traveling, so much that her and Arnold visited every state except Hawaii. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. The greatest joy in her life was always her family. She was a feisty, sassy, strong-willed woman, but she was also a loving dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by: her children, David (Kristina) Hoffmeyer, Penny (Ben) Perez, Tony (Tracy) Hoffmeyer, and Danny (Amanda) Hoffmeyer; loving step-children, Tom Hoffmeyer, Rick (Alice) Hoffmeyer, Daryl (Valerie) Hoffmeyer, Randy (Kathy Boomer) Hoffmeyer, and Terry (Nancy) Hoffmeyer; 22 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred Olson, John (Sherri) Olson, George Olson, Jim Olson, Tim Olson, Larry Olson, Chris Olson, and Donald (Lynda) Olson; and sister, Sonja Ptaszek.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; granddaughter, Joy South; brother, Albert Olson; and sisters, Fran (Joe) Pitts, and Nancy Olson-Lay.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel 1783 E Keating Avenue Muskegon. Visitation will take place on Monday from 5-8PM also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
