Nellie Ophelia Ricks

Nellie was born December 10, 1949, the daughter of Taylor and Emma Webb. She attended Mount Hermon Zion Baptist Church and loved the Lord. She retired in 1996 from Every Woman's Place where she worked in food service for over 15 years. During her retirement, she also worked for the kitchen committee of the church she loved so dearly for many years. She enjoyed shopping, gospel music, socializing and a little bit of gossip. She was a kind, loving, forgiving, selfless woman who will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Nellie is survived by: her children, Felesha Ricks and Irene Ricks; grandchildren, Howard Jackson Jr., Dontavius Ricks, Shavondrick Jackson, Nelesha Wilson, J’Anthony Wilson, Dalricus Harris, Shelia Wilson, Shaquille Mitchell; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Taylor Webb, Jessie Webb, Bradie Pool, Troy Webb, Ricky Webb, Theodore Tanner, and Roy Webb; sisters, Dorothy Jean Dosie, Denise Jackson, and Mary Ann Webb; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Shelia Ricks; brother, Morris Webb; sisters, Myrtis Christian, Dorothy Waddy, Linda White, and Josephine Miller; nephews, Gary Webb and Shunderick Waddy, niece Demetrius Christian; and her parents.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Mount Hermon Zion Baptist Church 2400 Sanford Street, Muskegon Heights MI 49444.
