Norma Kathleen Johnston

Norma was born May 23, 1948, the daughter of Russell and Dorothy Avery. She married William “Bill” Craigmyle in 1966. Sadly, he passed away in 1993. In 1996 Norma married Lynn Johnston. She graduated from Ferris State University. Norma worked as an RN most of her life. She was a home health nurse, EMT in Newaygo County, as well as an RN at Fremont and Spectrum Hospitals. Norma was a member of White Cloud Church of God where she founded the children’s program. She was also choir director, and was in charge of plays and musicals at the church. She was in the Christian gospel music group Wings of Praise. Norma enjoyed quilting and her church family. Most important to her was God, family, and sharing the love of Jesus. She was a loving, kind, caring woman who will be deeply missed.

Norma is survived by: her husband Lynn; children, Carl (Kim) Craigmyle, Kathryn Craigmyle, and Rachelle Johnston; grandchildren, Kaytlin (Shay) Smith, Nicolas (Frances) Craigmyle, Rebecca Osorio, Steven (Bree) Osorio, Benjamin Osorio, Sierra Vanderwier, Devyn Vanderwier; great-grandchild, Dominik Osorio along with two on the way; sisters, Dorothee (Pete) Dueling, Penny (Scott) Teusink, Peggy (Carl) Becker, Laura (Tim) Routley; brother, Dwight (Cindy) Avery; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Bill Craigmyle; daughter, Janet Craigmyle; her parents; and brother, Dwayne Avery.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens 2188 Remembrance Drive Muskegon 49442. The family would appreciate mask wearing and social distancing at the graveside.
