Patricia May Firestone

Patricia M. Firestone, affectionately known as Pat, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, who always remained by her side until the end.

Born on May 23, 1942, in Muscatine, Iowa, Pat was the daughter of George Albert Temple and Mildred Irene James. Raised in Muskegon, Michigan, she graduated from Muskegon Heights High School.

Pat married the love of her life, William Firestone, and they shared 57 wonderful years together until his passing on December 30, 2020. Pat found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren Cassidy, and Caydence, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed taking walks, rides to Pere Marquette, and playing games, particularly Yahtzee and Bingo.

Pat is survived by her daughter Kelly Firestone, son Robert Firestone, grandchildren Cassidy, Shelby, and Amanda, William Firestone and great-granddaughter Caydence. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Temple, sister-in-law Kathy Temple, and extended family members Barbara Ritsema, Arlene Firestone, and Darlene Henry, who was considered a daughter to her. Pat also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Mildred Temple; her husband William Firestone; brothers Albert Temple, Ken Temple, and Robert Temple; in-laws Jasper and Ruth Firestone; and sister-in-law Nancy Temple.

She was also preceded by Darlene Firestone, Roberta Firestone, Valerie Lizut, and sons-in-law Jack Firestone and Wayne Firestone, also her very special friend Beverly Hommond.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Harbor Hospice for their attentive care.
