

Pat was born June 30, 1941 in Muskegon. She is a graduate from Reeths-Puffer High School. She went on to work for Upjohn Pharmaceutical and Smith-Kline for 20 years; Pat started as a courier in Muskegon and later moved to Kalamazoo, MI to manage their phlebotomy department and courier service.
Pat was a part of the Model A Club and was an active member with St. Mary of the Woods Church. Pat loved to travel; she once took a trip to Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten to place her hand on her father’s name on the memorial wall. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, yard work, reading, and working on puzzles. Pat especially loved being with family and watching her kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events.
Pat was preceded in death by her former husband, Jacob W. Schmitt (May 30, 1989), parents, Roland J. Faulknor (October 20, 1944 – WWII Battle of Hurtgen Forest) and Barbara J. (Thompson) Jacobsen (April 11, 2009), Stepfather, Gerald D. Jacobsen, sisters-in-law, Katherine (Bud) Schofield, Madaline Schmitt, Martha (Bob) Beauleaux, Joyce (Jim) Muston, Eleanor Schmitt, and Lois Faulknor, Brothers-in-law, Charles (Theresa) Schmitt, and John Houseman.
Patricia is survived and remembered by husband of 13 years, Wayne Franklin, children, Tony (Dawn) Schmitt, Rick (Jo Ann) Schmitt, Rhonda (John) Boyd, Eric (Benni) Schmitt, and Wayne (Jane) Franklin Jr., siblings, Roland (Jim) Faulknor (Cheryl Parmeter), Daniel (Barb) Jacobsen, and Monte Jacobsen, grandchildren, Ryan (Karla) Boyd, Jessica (Josh Dagen) Boyd, Matthew (Jennifer) Schmitt, Nathan (Monique) Schmitt, Michael Schmitt, and Taylor Boyd, great grandchildren, Trevor and Luke Boyd, siblings-in-law, Margaret Houseman, Cecelia Kerr, Yvonne (Chet) Mitchell, Eugene Schmitt, Jerry (Sue) Schmitt, Don (Elise) Franklin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
There will be a private funeral mass for immediate family which will be live streamed January 28th at 11 am to the Ever Rest Facebook page, and a public Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at a later time in Muskegon, MI.
