Robert Charles Hansen, age 76, of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Muskegon. Born on March 10, 1949, to Leonard and Ruth (Johnson) Hansen, Bob was a proud lifelong resident of Muskegon.
Bob’s journey in life began at Muskegon Public Schools, where he laid the foundation for a fulfilling future. On May 6, 1967, he married his beloved soulmate, Marilyn Louise Geeting. Together, they forged a beautiful life filled with love, laughter. He dedicated himself to the skilled trades, working as a Journeyman Maintenance Repair and Journeyman Millwright.
It is a poignant testament to their deep and enduring bond that Bob's passing came just one hour after what would have been their 58th wedding anniversary—a reminder of the love they shared. Now reunited with Marilyn, who passed away in 2023, they continue to inspire all who knew them with the strength of their love.
Bob radiated joy and warmth at every gathering, embodying a fun-loving spirit, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He was celebrated for his compassionate heart and protective nature, especially towards his children and grandchildren. Family was his compass, guiding every moment, whether he was hosting card nights, cheering from the bowling lanes, or sharing laughter around the dinner table. Bob had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cherished and loved.
Although he could be stubborn and strong-willed at times, he truly had a heart of gold. He cherished life with passion, finding joy in trips to the casino, playing rounds of golf with friends, and savoring the simple moments spent with those he loved most. His enthusiasm for these experiences reflected the warmth and kindness he carried within him.
Bob is survived by his children, Rob (Kelly) Hansen and Robyn (Jason) Johnson; grandchildren, Brittany (Nick) Sweezer, Zachary (HyunJi Boo) Hansen, Taylor (Gregory) Wilkinson, and Brennan (Payton) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Ava, Kamdyn, Vera, Isla, Nicklaus, Alayna, Rory, and Ivory. He is also survived by his brother Lornell (Gloria) Hansen of South Dakota; sisters Donna Ellis of Muskegon, Sharon Baker of Missouri, Shirley (Frank) Leonard of Muskegon, Sandra Viereck of Muskegon, and Carol (Marshall) Cutler of Martin, Michigan.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Ever Rest Funeral Home, located at 1783 E. Keating Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan.
Bob’s legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty lives on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
