

It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Lee Corning announces the passing of their beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma. Sandra passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2025. Sandra was born on May 21, 1938, in Muskegon, Michigan to Richard and Ethel Baun. Sandra was 86 years old. Sandra married William A. Corning on 4/12/1958 in Muskegon, Michigan. They were happily married for 55 years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband William A Corning, mother Ethel Erickson, mother and father in law Arnold and Katherine Corning.
Sandra is survived by her loving children: Pamela Sue Bonstell, Dawn Marie VanDyke (Tom deceased), William Arnold Jr. (Marcy) Corning, Dorthea Ann (Emery) Miller. Grandchildren: Nicole (Daniel) Malseed, Justin Monroe, Sara (Shawn) Seher, Heather (Jared) Potgeter, Tyler Bonstell, Joe Corning, Amber (Ethan) Arnold, William Corning III Great Grandchildren:Rebekah, Liam, Hannah, Caleb, Evan, Abigail, Charlotte.
Siblings: Janet Baun, Albert Erickson (Jan deceased) and sister in-law Valona Boles (James deceased)
Also several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Sandra touched many lives with her warmth and kindness. Her memory will forever be held near and dear in the hearts of those who loved her. Sandra was a warm and loving soul, deeply devoted to her family and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a big heart overflowing with care and compassion and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed baking and was a great cook. She created beautiful memories during camping trips and adventures with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at the river property and many trips to Florida. Sandra loved shopping, particularly Walmart. She loved finding bargains to stock the Grandma pantry with canned goods, pop, snacks and chocolate. Her home was always a haven of treats, ensuring that her loved ones had plenty to enjoy. Sandra was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She and her late husband were very active at the VFW post 446. Sandra loved the flutter of butterflies, watching birds at her bird feeder, and the buzzing of hummingbirds. For over two decades, Sandra and her 3 daughters cherished a heartfelt tradition of shopping together in the days leading up to Christmas. It was a time filled with laughter and joy that will forever hold a place in their hearts. Her unwavering devotion as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother shone brightly in everything she did. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will remember her love, kindness, and nurturing spirit. Sandra's family will forever treasure her memory, and be comforted by knowing she is in the hands of the lord and at Peace!!
A memorial service to honor the life of Sandra is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2025, at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will occur from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service at 12:00PM, which will be officiated by Glenn Aittama. A luncheon will be provided following the service.
