Sara Jean Thomas

Sara was born October 27, 1957, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Cody. She married Benjamin Thomas on December 13, 1995. After 20 years of marriage he passed away in 2015. She was a proud Elder with the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians, and a member of the Native American Church of the Morning Star. She enjoyed collecting stones and crystals, casino trips, reading, cooking and baking. She was an independent, funny, strong, loving, humble, amazing woman who will be deeply missed.

Sara is survived by: her children, Valerie Graves, and Aaliyah (William) Thomas-Zonker; grandchildren, Jasmine, Justice and Ayden Graves; brothers, Raymond (Constance) Cody, and Michael (Barbara) Anthony; sisters, Evelyn (Larry Gray) Cody, Patricia (Patrick) Maple, Joyce (Ronald) Robertson, AND Mary (Stacey) Cody-Gibson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; brother, Edward Brown; and sister, Mona Cody.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel 1783 E Keating Avenue Muskegon. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4-7PM also at the funeral home.
