Willie graduated from Reeths Puffer Schools enlisting in the United States Marine Corps upon finishing school. He was injured after basic training and was honorably discharged to return home.
Willie married the former Joan Forman on January 8, 1982 and they enjoyed forty-one (41) years of loving marriage. He enjoyed watching wrestling with his boys, his Detroit Tigers, Elvis, and the Smokey and the Bandit movie series. In fact, Willie thought he was “Bandit” when driving out on the roads. He loved playing card games like Canasta, Pedro and cribbage and trips to the casino to try his luck at the slots.
Willie was a big kid at heart who loved hanging with his extended family. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren and then, great-grandchildren, playing outside. He will be greatly missed by them all.
He is survived by his children: Julie (Eric) Snyder, Amy Campbell, Richard (Lisa) Gale, Nicholas Gale, Donald Gale and Melissa. His grandchildren: Brittany Forman, Megan Quinton, Emily Quinton, Ashley (Josh) Dill, Kenneth (Catie) Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Chase Campbell, Cameron Gale, Mason Gale, Nicholas Gale Jr., Andrew Gale and 14 great-grandchildren.
