

William Arnold Firestone, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2020 in Muskegon, MI and will be missed by his family. He was born October 10, 1941 in Muskegon to Jasper and Ruth (Chaffee) Firestone. He is a graduate of Orchard View High School. William went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy for 5 years on the USS LAFFEY DD-724 as a gunners mate where he earned a good conduct medal. Following his armed service, he worked at Century Foundry for 12 years, Thermo Technology for 10 years, and Universal Camshaft for 21 years doing Camshaft Straightening and in the Heat Treat Department.
Known as Butch to those close, he was loving, kind, caring, a hard worker, and had the greatest sense of humor. Butch absolutely adored his wife, Patricia, of 57 loving years whom he married August 24, 1963. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, doing puzzles and repairing small engines. He also enjoyed spending time working out in the yard, playing card games, playing Yahtzee every Saturday night during the winter months, and walking his dog CoCo. He was an amazing and loving husband and father who always put his family first.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Jack Firestone, Wayne Firestone, Edward Chaffee, Valerie (Firestone) Lizut, Roberta (Firestone) Jones, and Betty Chaffee, siblings-in-law, Albert Temple, Ken and Nancy Temple, Robert Temple, Robert Beckeman, Ken Jones, Don Lizut, and Darlene Firestone, parents, Jasper and Ruth (Chaffee) Firestone, and parents-in-law, George and Mildred Temple.
William is survived and remembered by his wife, Patricia (Temple) Firestone, children, Robert Firestone and wife Patricia, and Kelly Firestone and fiancé Gary Williams, grandchildren, William Robert Firestone, Shelby Lynne (Firestone) Stansell, Amanda Jo (Firestone) Kisler, Cassidy May Pennell, sister, Barbara (Firestone) Ritsema, siblings-in-law, Ronald and Kathy Temple, a very special cousin and friend, Beverly (Danz) Hammond, many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and of course, his beloved dog, CoCo.
