William “Bill” George Hibbs, 86, passed away on April 4, 2022. Bill was born on December 15, 1935 to Herbert and Louella Hibbs of Muskegon, MI. He was the 4th out of 9 children. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. Bill loved life, and proclaimed, “I want to live to be 100!” When Bill married his wife, Patricia, he said, “If God only gives us 20 years together, I’d be happy.” The couple was blessed with 9 ¼ years together. When the couple married, Patricia’s son David asked, “Mom, what should I call Bill? – Do I call him Dad?” Patricia replied with a smile and said “Do what I do, call him Honey Bunny!” He was really a “jack of all trades”. Bill’s hobbies included clocks and trains. He had a large model train set up in his basement. The model had everything from houses, people, cars, and several Ferris wheels. Bill also loved grandfather clocks. He would buy old ones, and fix them up to sell. Even if the clock was too old to buy parts for, he would figure out how to make his own. On the weekends, Bill and his wife, would venture to the local parks, the block house, and thrift stores. The family has photo albums full of their memories. He loved gardening and taking care of his lawn. His yard was the envy of the neighborhood. Bill was a father figure to many, not just his own children. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. To Bill, family was everything. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. When you think of Bill in your prayers, please remember the good times. Rest in Peace Bill, we love you.
