He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Carolyn; his daughter, Lynda (Bart); son, Alan; daughter, Karen (Paul); son, Tim (Christine); grandchildren, Katie, Eric, Rob, Garrett, Brandon, Chris, and Noelle; as well as his great grandchildren, Blake and Miller.
Born in Vancouver September 11th, 1927. Raised on Bowen Island, where his love of the sea began. Boating, fishing, hiking and a love of the great outdoors were a lifelong passion. Herb was instrumental in the community development of Foster Park in Parksville. He saw the creation of this park as something that would benefit and bring joy to all people – young and old, long beyond his lifetime.
Herb will be remembered by all for the smile on his face and the stories ready to share. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 28th at Foster Park – corner of Pym Street and Sanderson Road – from 12:00 to 3:00pm.
