

It is with great sadness that we anounce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, KENNETH ARTHUR ROSE. Born in Edmonton, Alberta on August 14, 1932. Passed away December 10, 2014 in Nanaimo, BC. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Ann Rose, and three children, Deborah (Ron) Ward, Robert (Julie) Rose and Robin Shaw, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and by his identical twin brother Frederick John (Elizabeth) Rose of Cochrane, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews. He was prededeased by his three brothers, one sister, a niece and nephew. Ken brought great joy and humour to all who knew him and was a shining example of strength, leadership and compassion. Ken spent many years in Alberta as a pilot, general storekeeper and farmer, before retiring to Nanaimo, BC, spending winters in California. He enjoyed sports, was a champion golfer, a minor league hockey coach, and assited with the junior golf program at Nanaimo Golf and Country Club. Ken served as Mayor of the Village of Cremona, Alberta and was a charter member and Past-President of the Cremona Lions Club. He donated his time and expertise with gusto and lived life to the fullest. His wife and children brought him the greatest pride and joy. His larger than life touch will be greatly missed.
