Born on October 26, 1938, in Queens, New York, Angela lived a life rooted in faith, family, service, and love. In 1976, she moved from Miami to Naples with her husband and three children, where she would go on to leave a lasting mark on her family, community, and all who knew her.
Angela was the eldest daughter of Louis Florio and Angela Creaco. She was married to her beloved husband, John Connor, for 63 years, who preceded her in death on March 20, 2024.
A lifelong learner, Angela earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Barry University and her Master’s degree in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University. She began her professional life as an elementary school teacher, later becoming a real estate agent and broker through her firm, Connor & Connor.
Above all, Angela was a devout Catholic whose faith shaped every part of her life. She was a fierce advocate for the Church and instilled a deep love of Christ in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her prayer life was constant and powerful. She was often the first to hear a prayer request or offer a listening ear to someone in need. Her devotion led her to extraordinary experiences, including meeting Mother Teresa and traveling to the Holy Land.
Angela was also deeply committed to serving others. She was the first to teach Natural Family Planning, a dedicated pro-life advocate, and held political positions in Collier County, where she especially championed children’s education and health.
She had a deep love for nature and animals and found joy in the beauty of God’s creation. She was especially known for her numerous fruit trees and, most famously, her mangos. Yet of all the gifts in Angela’s life, family remained at the center. Her life revolved around those she loved, and her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured with prayer, wisdom, and strength.
Angela is survived by her three children, Carol LeBeau, Tom (Karla) Connor, and Barry (Cheri) Connor; her grandchildren, Robbie LeBeau, Christina (Nik) Dimofski, Reed (Lisa) Connor, Bailey (Connor) McCaffrey, Kasey (Jake) Boxleitner, Holly (Phillip) Bui, Bryanna (Alex) McCain, Makayla (Giovanni) Smit, Rebecka (Jack) Scanlon, Jacob Connor, and Shawn Connor; and her 19 great-grandchildren.
Angela will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her strength of conviction, and the beautiful way she poured herself into her family and her community.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist in Naples, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Community Pregnancy Clinics.
