AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Anne Marie Armstrong Marrinan

11 août 1938 – 14 août 2025
Avis de décès de Anne Marie Armstrong Marrinan
AUX SOINS DE

Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens

Anne Marie Armstrong Marrinan, 87, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Anne was born in New York City on August 11, 1938, the daughter of Irish immigrants Peter Armstrong and Bridget Armstrong (née McGrath). She earned her nursing degree from the Bellevue School of Nursing in Manhattan and worked as an operating room nurse. On October 24, 1959, she married Gerald Marrinan. They began their married life in Nashua, NH, and Buffalo, NY, before settling in Upper Saddle River, NJ, where they raised their four children. Upon Gerry’s retirement, they divided their time between New Jersey and Naples, Florida.

Anne had a gift for building community wherever she went. In her early years as a mother, she was a Girl Scout leader and an active presence at the Church of the Presentation, serving as a eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, and soup kitchen volunteer. She was also a devoted member of the Upper Saddle River Women’s Club. She loved a good tennis match, a competitive game of bridge, and the camaraderie that came with them. After moving to Naples, she dedicated many years as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Health Clinic, giving her time and skills to those in need.

Anne is survived by her four children: Chris (Jackie Marrinan), Jean (Gregory Warner), Sheila (Gregory Burkus), and Peter; and nine grandchildren: Keenan and Erik Marrinan; Martin, Kaylee, and Robert Warner; and Nick, Lexie, Annie, and Kylie Burkus.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Marrinan, and by her brothers, Peter and William Armstrong.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Hilda Millan and Rose Malbranche, who cared for Anne with great devotion for many years.

A private celebration of Anne’s life will be planned by her family.
