She was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, on October 13, 1934.
She was married to Leandro Noel Gonzalez on February 17, 1956. They spent 62 happy years together.
Aracelis had a passion for gardening – she was particularly fond of her many orchids – making jams, sewing and spending time with family and friends. For decades, she hosted a weekly Saturday luncheon for family.
A resident of Naples since arriving from Cuba in 1965, Aracelis had a long career in the banking and accounting industry. After briefly retiring in the early 1990s, she spent an additional ten years working for the Collier County Public School System.
She is survived by her husband, Leandro Noel Gonzalez; her children, Aracelis Gonzalez Asendorf, Noel Gonzalez and David Gonzalez; son-in-law Alan Asendorf; grandchildren, Alexa Asendorf Sellers, Cord Asendorf, Janelle Gonzalez Bass, Jacob Gonzalez and Janessa Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren, Calvin, Alice and Charles Bass. She is also survived by three sisters, Caridad Alvarez, Dolores Borro and Angela Padron; plus an extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1:30 PM to 3 PM at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Avenue North, Naples FL 34108. A reception will follow at 3:30 PM at the Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club, 8150 Heritage Club Way, Naples FL 34112.
In lieu of flowers, Aracelis requested that donations be made to Avow Hospice.
