Cynthia graduated with a dual degree in Fine Art and Design, and Education from the University of Michigan where she also met the love of her life, law student, Stephen Flood. After graduation in 1959, they were happily married for 58 years, and remained so until Stephen’s death in 2017. They started their family in NYC, later raising their two daughters in Chappaqua, NY, where they lived until moving to Naples, FL in 1995.
Cynthia was a talented artist, tremendous athlete, and full of color and life, but she will be remembered most for the steadfast love and caring she had for her family. Cynthia was loved deeply and will be missed greatly.
She leaves behind two loving daughters, and their husbands: Pamela Flood-Shafer (Steve) of Port Angelas, WA, Courtney Flood Bennett (Peter) of Rye, NY, and five adult grandchildren, Christian, Stephanie (Pamela), and Alexandra, William and Caroline (Courtney&Peter).
In addition to her husband and parents, Cynthia was pre-deceased by her brother, Theodore (Ted) Sogard in 2011.
A memorial service in Celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held on Saturday, January, 11,2025 at 11:30am at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, Naples, FL.
