Dugan J. Porter

Dugan “Dugie” Porter age 86 passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021. Dugan was born in Dallas City, IL on October 7th, 1934. He moved to Rock Island, IL as a child and graduated from Rock Island High School (Rocky) in 1952.

In 1963, Dugan married the love of his life, Natalie Miller. In 1970, he moved his family to Naples, FL. Soon after moving to Naples, he established Dugan’s Drywall & Plastering Inc., serving the Naples area for 34 years. Many of Dugan’s employees became lifelong friends.

Dugan enjoyed tennis, golf, and he and his wife enjoyed traveling, their favorite vacation spot being Ireland. After Dugan retired, Dugan and Natalie spent their summers in Flat Rock, NC. The two of them enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends.

Dugan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Dugan will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, his two sons, Randall Porter (Robin), Jack Porter (Elise), his daughter Lisa Oien (Rick), seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Dugan was proceeded in death by his son Tab Porter, his mother Gretchen Porter, and two brothers Kayo Porter and Lynn Porter.

His funeral will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens on August 19th. Viewing will be held at 1:00pm and services will be held at 2:00pm.
