

Edwin George Driscoll passed away at his home in Naples, Florida on March 14th at the age of 75. He had been ill for a long time and had quietly said goodbye to those he loved. Ed grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut and forever remained a West Hartford boy.
He was a gifted athlete who played football, baseball and basketball at Conard High School in the late 50’s through 1960 and, after a stint in the Army, went on the play baseball and basketball at The University of Hartford. He read The Hartford Courant every day of his life and was an active participant in the West Hartford website until his death.
Ed leaves behind his three children, Jeremiah Driscoll, and his wife Karen, and his grandsons Griffin (17) and Zane (13); his daughter Christy and his granddaughter Mary Catherine (10) and his son Patrick, his wife Jessica, his granddaughter Althea (2) and their new baby expected in August. He also leaves his wife of 21 years and high school sweetheart, Polly Driscoll who he re-connected with after 35 years, his exwife, Linda Leonard, the mother of his children, and his sister Sandi ODonnell. Ed retired from his 40 year career in the trucking business, as Regional VP of UPS Freight in 2008 and, after living in Kalispell, Montana for 7 years, he and Polly moved permanently to Naples. Ed was a loyal friend to all who knew him and an especially loyal fan of his beloved Red Sox. He was known for the stories he told of his athletic career and his time in the Kennedy and Johnson White House while serving in the army. Ed has friends in nearly every state and will be remembered as a loving father and a good and loyal friend.
