

EG Chuck Whidden, 81, of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of Naples died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Mr. Whidden retired as Chief Deputy of the Collier County Sheriffs Department after 32.59 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Whidden is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June T. Whidden; devoted father of Lana Withers (Roger), Sandy
Van Horn (Robert) and Lauri Purslow; Mr. Whidden is also survived by his brother, Wilson R. Whidden (Joyce); six grandchildren, John W. Koors, Kristen Koors, Brandy McKown, Todd T. Turner, Tatum Purslow and Caden Purslow; four great grandchildren, Steel H. Koors, Alexis McKown, Taylor McKown and Gabrielle Turner as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, James Purslow.
The family will recieve friends on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Avenue North, Naples, FL 34108 with a service immediately following.
