With tremendous sadness, the Brady family announces the death of their daughter, sister, niece, aunt and great-aunt, Ellen Theresa Brady. Ellen died on Nov. 25 of cardiac arrest after a long battle with multiple sclerosis and its consequences. Born in 1962, Ellen was 53 years old. She was diagnosed with MS at age 19.
Ellen was the daughter of the late John B. Brady and Rosemary E. Brady, a resident of Aston Gardens in North Naples. They both are formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Syracuse, New York. Ellen also was a resident in Aston Gardens.
Ellen was born and grew up in Syracuse with her two brothers, John B. Brady Jr. and Michael P. Brady, and her sister, Rosemary (Rose) Brady. Ellen graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in and went on to study history at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.
She never loved school, but Ellen made the honor roll and Dean’s list consistently and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1983 from Hamilton. It was during her college years that she received her diagnosis of MS. Despite the challenges that she faced, Ellen carried on to finish her degree and start an independent life working and living in Boston for several years. After her stint in the financial field in Boston, Ellen moved to Florida in the early 1990s and became a benefits specialist at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort.
Ellen leaves behind her mother, brother and sister as well as a beloved niece (Jennifer Henn, wife of Eric Henn), her great nephew and niece (Jackson and Avery Henn); her nephew (John J.
