Gene K. Morgan of Naples, FL passed at home surrounded by family and friends and went to be with his Lord on April 14, 2025. Gene was born on February 3, 1945 in Williamsport, IN and grew up on his family’s farm until graduating from Attica High School in 1963. He then served a tour in the U. S. Army and following his honorable discharge, Gene attended Baptist Bible College (Mission University) in Springfield, IL. He pastored churches in Illinois and Florida, moving to Naples in 1987, later attending Barry University in Miami, FL.
After receiving his master’s degree in social work, Gene attained his Florida State licensure in Clinical Social Work. Continuing his calling in full-time pastoring, Gene worked in private clinical practice, and with Naples Community Hospital, Collier County jail system and multiple organizations and boards until retiring in 2017.
Throughout his Florida ministry Gene and his beloved wife, Regina, were avid sailors, travelers, active in athletics and volunteerism. Gene was well-known for his humor, love, selflessness and devotion to sharing his Lord’s word.
Gene is survived by his wonderful family: best friend and devoted wife of 40 years, Regina; brother Jerry; sister Barbara; son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his loving parents, parents-in-law, and sister-in-law.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108, friends may gather starting at 2:30 PM.
