

Gerald was born on March 16, 1933 in New York City. He was the son of Martin Marrinan and Bridie Hanrahan Marrinan. He was a 1957 graduate of Fordham University. In 1959 he married Anne Armstrong. Gerald was the proud father of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
In 1957 he started his lifelong career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He retired in 1998. He stared his career as a salesman with territories in Chicago, IL; Buffalo, NY; and Nashua, NH. In 1968 the family moved to Upper Saddle River, NJ and he transferred to the MetLife headquarter offices in New York City. He held various positions within MetLife and ended his career as a Senior Executive in the Group Life division.
In 2000, Gerald began wintering in Pelican Bay in Naples, FL. In 2002, he moved from Upper Saddle River to Chester, NJ. In 2014, he became a year round Florida resident. He was a member of St. William parish.
Gerald is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Anne Marrinan; son, Chris Marrinan and his wife, Jackie Marrinan of Boulder, CO; daughter Jean Marrinan-Warner and her husband, Greg Warner of Downingtown, PA; daughter Sheila Burkus and her husband, Greg Burkus of Weston, MA; and son Peter Marrinan of New York City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas Burkus, Alexa Burkus, Annie Burkus, Kylie Burkus, Martin Warner, Kaylee Warner, Robert Warner, Keenan Marrinan, and Erik Marrinan. He was predeceased by his sisters Marie Marrinan Sheridan and Joan Marrinan Wrathall.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th at 11 am to 1 pm at the Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Avenue North in Naples followed by a 2 pm funeral mass at Saint William Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Drive. A reception for family and friends will follow at The Club Pelican Bay, 707 Gulf Park drive, Naples, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation made in his memory to the Neighborhood Health Clinic, 121 Goodlette Road North, Naples, FL 34102.
