

Grace Hedwig Haller (née Pawlisz) passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Naples, Florida. Born on June 27, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, Grace lived 95 years filled with joy, faith, love, and family.
Grace attended Kelly High School in Chicago and was the first in her family to graduate. Afterwards, she worked as a comptometer operator (an early mechanical computer) for Crane Company, where she met her husband, Louis Haller, in 1951. They married in 1952 and settled in Chicago before moving to St. Charles, Illinois, in 1972. Together they raised nine children. Grace and her husband retired to Naples in 1985.
Grace was a devoted Catholic, a talented seamstress, a card shark, an avid chocolate lover, and a quick-witted matriarch. Throughout her life she was an active member in her church communities: St. Mary Star of the Sea in Chicago, St. Patrick in St. Charles, and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Naples. Later in life, Grace volunteered her sewing skills at Sugden Theater in Naples, where she helped create costumes for theater productions. Grace found her greatest accomplishment in her loving marriage and her beautiful family, whom she loved spending time with.
Grace is survived by her sister Dorothy Frances Cronin; her children Mary Grace Doeseckle (Louis), Louis Joseph Haller, Raymond Gerard Haller, Michael Peter Haller (Thanh), Thomas Francis Haller (Cynthia), Mary Lou Haller, Mary Anne Haller Conejo, Jeffrey William Haller (Jacqueline), and Christopher Steven Haller; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Louis Haller; her parents, Raymond Pawlisz and Hedwig Pawlisz (née Ostrashevski); her brother, Raymond Pawlisz; her brother-in-law, John Cronin; her daughter-in-law, Kristine Knudson; and her son-in-law Carlos Conejo.
The family will receive friends at a visitation, which will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave N, Naples, FL, followed by entombment at Hodges Funeral Home.
There will be a reception at St. John the Evangelist following the service.
