Sorry to here about Harvey, We hired Harvey to build our house in 1986 by Emise Park. We are one of only two original families left in two block area.

I’ll never forget Uncle Harvey’s big booming voice and boisterous laugh. Nor how he always told me if I was quiet I could sit at the table while the adults played hearts at Great Grandma Bergerts during the holidays. Grandma Alice’s stories of how ornery he was as a brother. He no double will be missed. Many condolences and may he rest in peace.  -Jessica

Jeanne--I am sorry for your loss.  I met Harvey in 1967 while he was building a house for you in Kimberly Village.  I worked for him and with Ron Wacker for about 3 1/2 years, and I learned a lot about building from the two of them.   Thanks to him hiring me I learned a skill that enabled me to support my family.  Seven years after he hired me, I became a builder in Muscatine and I've always been grateful for his influence on my life.        Tom Keller

I met Harvey years ago at K&K Hardware, what a HOOT he was. Soo funny and that GRIN... like he was Up to something... nothing unusual... lol. Then met Jeanne when I started working at Russell. May His Spirit And Many Memories Guide You All Through This Journey Of Life. So sorry for your loss. God Bless Him.

I knew Harvey thru the QC Homebuilders for many years.  I admired him because he always spoke his mind.  As Executive Officer of the QC Homebuilders I never had a customer complaint about Harvey.  He was a solid builder.  My condolences to Becky, Darvey and Rhea.  RIP Harvey!

Harvey and Jeanne moved into Beachwood in about 1991, they were apart of the first owners to live there. He was very much a leader in the community. I can’t count how often he severed on the board but he volunteered more than most. He cared so much where he lived and enjoyed everyone that lived here. He was the fix it man of the community and did not hesitate to always try to make it a better place to live. The Bergert’s were very close to my mom and spent a lot of time together. He helped her in so many ways, not only on projects she needed to get done. But a true friend to be there for her. I’m not sure when I met Harvey but it was early on when they moved in. He impressed me as a good man that enjoyed being a part of Beachwood. When I moved in he was there for me and wanted to know how and what I was doing. After all Harvey Knows!

So sorry Becky for the loss of your dad.  Condolences to your family.

Harvey actually sold us our home away from home apt. and welcomed us into the Beachwood On The Bay family with open arms. 
Michael and I spent many a night with Harvey and Jeanie, watching sunsets, doing chores around the property with him which was a source of great pride for him, and dancing the nights away at The Moose. But what stands out the most about Harvey was his zest for life, and finding humor and irony in everything.
 He was a proud man that served our country,  served his family, and served his home, and we are all better because of all of his efforts. 
 He was everyone's friend, everyone's challenge and everyone's supportive pillar in our little community. 
 Michael and I will miss our friend greatly and life without him will forever be changed.

Sorry for the loss, good memories, many years ago. Quite a character. Always had a thought provoking comment about something interesting.
