Jacqueline Urquhart

Born in Detroit, MI on May 26, 1938, she shared her time between Gaylord, MI (Guthrie Lakes) and Naples for the past 40 years. For the past 6 years she has enjoyed living full time with cherished friends she made at the vibrant Naples All Seasons community.

Jackie was the heart of our home and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Urquhart (USMC). She is survived by her son Thomas Houghtby (Natalie), daughter Deborah Gutherie (William), stepson Jeffory Urquhart, stepdaughter Jennifer Lerner, grandchildren Fiona Houghtby, Randall (Deanna) Gutherie, Chelsea (Chris) Galea, Bree Lerner, Jordan Lerner, Lani Lerner, Sawyer Lerner, Samantha Lerner, Scot Urquhart, and many great grandchildren.

Jackie lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. She worked as a nurse at Detroit area hospitals for most of her career and then as a university nursing instructor there for several years. She then moved into home health care before retiring, spending winters in Naples and summers in Northern Michigan.

Jackie was known for her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, and the joy that she brought to the room. She enjoyed writing short stories and poems, painting / sketching, mentoring, reading, and dinners with family and friends. She was a beacon of kindness and love who will forever reside in our hearts, and now her light is shining bright in Heaven.

Burial will be private on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Sarasota National Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM at All Seasons Sky Lounge, 15450 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34110.
