Born in March of 1937 and raised in Des Moines, she met her husband, Robert Shafto, in junior high school. They shared 70 years of marriage and built a life centered on love, family, and togetherness.
Jeannette was the devoted mother of Robert Shafto, Dennis Shafto, Teri Scholl, Shari Antonissen, and Michael Shafto. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren.
Jeannette was known for her warm heart and deep love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, creating a welcoming home, tending to her gardens, celebrating holidays together, and spending time by the ocean in Cape Cod, where she especially loved watching her home light up with the sunset.
The family of Jeanette want to thank the many caregivers that very lovingly cared for her. Our family appreciate all that helped her and all those that prayed for her during her illness over the last year.
She is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A private family service was held.
