Her family moved to River Edge on July 3rd, 1942 where she attended Roosevelt Elementary School, graduated from Hackensack High School in 1947 and Trenton State (presently The College of NJ) in 1952. Upon marrying her former husband, the late Fred H. Quantmeyer Jr. in 1953 she moved to Harrington Park, NJ. Later in 1986 she obtained her Masters Degree plus 60 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her education career spanned from 3 years at Montclair High School, 1 year at Oradell Elementary/Jr High and 29 years at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan, retiring in 1996.
In 2007, after a long diligent search she found the perfect place to begin her next adventure by moving to The Dunes in Naples, FL. Between her colorful personality, her daily active lifestyle and the numerous lifelong friendships that were created, she flourished.
