John Robert "Bob" Brewster

It is with great sadness that the children of Bob Brewster announce his passing on February 25, 2016. Bob was born May 26, 1934 in Inverness, Florida to Simon and Elsie (nee Sundberg) Brewster. After graduating from Cocoa High School in 1952, Bob served 4 years in the US Navy. From there he enrolled at the University of Florida when he became a Pharmacist and a lifelong Gator fan. He made his home in Vero Beach, FL with his first wife Barbara Posey. In 1975 he moved to Naples to purchase Gulfshore Pharmacy. In 1976 he married Catherine Louise Morris and together they owned and operated the pharmacy and raised their family until his Sweetie B’s passing in 2001. Bob’s greatest joys outside his family were his customers and golf. He achieved his only hole-in-one on October 14, 1994 on the 3rd hole at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club.

Bob is survived by his children; Jonathan (Melissa) Brewster, Jeff (Lisa) Brewster all of Vero Beach, FL, Jim (Lisa) Brewster of Valley Center, CA, Robin Woods of Melbourne, FL, Nicole (Jorge) Arevalo, Ashlyn Brewster (Gabriel) McLean all of Naples, and Joshua Brewster of Portland, Oregon; his grandchildren; Elizabeth, Alexis, Jared, James, Jason, Julia, Michael, Madison, Izaac, and Emily. His sister, Alice (Malcolm) Phillips and brother, William (Cecilia) Brewster also survive him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at Wilshire Lakes Clubhouse.
