

Katie was born in Summit, New Jersey on November 8, 1924 to the late Roland and Frances (Brown) Beattie. She graduated from Kent Place School and then Bradford Jr. College. She worked in her father’s printing business in New York City and taught ballroom dancing until she married George C. Dutton (d. 2005). Katie and George shared a loving and fun-filled marriage for 54 years and raised their family in Wayland, Massachusetts and Ossipee, NH. She tutored children part time with learning disabilities and was active in the Junior League of Boston. Upon retiring, they enjoyed life in New London, New Hampshire and Florida. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved golf, croquet and winning card games. She had artistic talents, a lovely voice and an eye for fashion. Her family remembers her as fun, strong and a fierce advocate of each member of her family.
She is survived by her three children, Jane Dutton (Lloyd Sandelands), Anne Keesor (Bill Keesor) and Steve Dutton (Diane Dutton), her 10 grandchildren (Cara (Karl) Rosaen, Emily Sandelands, Ben (Kelly) Cooke, Jayna (Andrew) Hilbert, Keegan (Cindy) Cooke, Laura Keesor, Julie(Mark) Ribel, Billy Keesor, Jackson Dutton and Katarina Dutton) and 9 great grandchildren (Raleigh and Gus Rosaen, Jake and Bella Cooke, Sienna and Gabriella Hilbert, Mila Cooke and Cooper and Brody Ribel). Katie adored her nephews and nieces and had a special relationship with her nephew Lars B. Beattie and Kathy Z. Schulte.
There will be a life celebration and family service in Katie’s honor in New London, New Hampshire in July of 2020.
