He was born and raised in Connecticut, lived in Arizona for 23 years, and Florida for 14 years.
He leaves behind his wife, Jill (nee Wendling) Nelson of 30 years, and daughter Sherri (Nelson) Meyer and her husband Michael of North Carolina, and his two grandchildren, David and Steven Meyer of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law George and Barbara Nelson, sister-in-law Peggy, as well as eight nieces and nephews and their spouses, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and sisters – Bill, Leslie, John, Dave, and Virginia.
Larry was a plastic injection mold maker for 45 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
Burial will be at 11:00am on January 9, 2019 in Kaneohe, HI at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
