Lorraine Murphy

Anna Lorraine Murphy, 91, of Naples, FL, formerly of East Bridgewater, and Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016. She was the wife of Richard Murphy of Naples, Florida and the late William Menton. She was also predeceased by her son, John Menton.

Lorraine had a career in banking and real estate in Massachusetts before retiring with Richard to Naples in the early nineties. In retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Naples Community Hospital, going to the beach, reading, mahjong, and playing cards. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and loved watching them on television or going to preseason games. But she especially loved visits from her 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Richard of 29 years and her six children and their spouses; Kathleen Weidenfeller and her husband, John of Naples, Julie Hedges and her husband Roger of Naples, Suzanne Horton of Raynham, MA, William Menton and his wife Sue of Bridgewater, MA, James Menton and his wife Jeanne of West Bridgewater, MA, and Michael Menton and his wife, Meredith, of Southington, CT.

We would especially like to thank Avow Hospice for their compassionate care of our mother in her final days in particular her nurses Jaime, Jennifer, and Julie.

Funeral arrangements are being held by Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 9:30AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, FL.
