Marie Rose Thompson

Marie R. Thompson, 77, of Naples, FL passed away at home on June 21, 2017. She was born in England in 1940 near the start of WWII. Due to the war, Marie's parents were sent off by the military and she was raised by her grandmother for the first eight years of her life. Her father never returned from war; however her mother married a United States Soldier who brought Marie, her mother, and her sister Beryl to the United States to settle outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1950. Marie graduated High School in 1958 and went on to work as a server for 23 years. Marie raised her three children and loved them dearly. In 1986 Marie met Robert who she later married and moved to Naples, Florida in 1996. In Naples Marie found a passion for golfing and continued to play until she passed away.

Marie is survived by her husband, Robert Thompson (Florida); two children, Paula Mitchell (California) and Cheryl Moore (North Carolina); and three grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beryl; and her son, Jeff who was a Naval Pilot.

A Memorial Service will take place on July 3rd, 2017 at 11am at The First Congregational Church of Naples (6225 Autumn Oaks Ln, Naples, FL 34119).
