Mary Louise Grevey

Mary Louise Grevey, 82 of Naples, Florida, passed away on September 17, 2023. She was born on March 26, 1941to Edward & Margaret Birmingham in Sioux City, Iowa where she graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1959.

After high school she worked as a switchboard operator for Northwest Bell phone company, in Sioux City. She moved to Washington DC and worked for a federal government agency. On June 13,1964, she married Harry Grevey from Hamilton, Ohio. Mary Lou and Harry raised their family in Dale City, Virginia. Mary Lou worked for the United States Postal Service.

After their retirement to Naples, Florida, she earned her Associates Degree from Edison Community College. She was an avid bridge player, loved to read, and an amazing solver of puzzles. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters Julie Smith of Charlotte, NC and Gail Clark of Dallas, TX and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Matthew, and Meghan and her brothers and sister, Edward Birmingham of Omaha, Nebraska, Patrick (Barbara) Birmingham of Nebraska & Florida, Robert (Mary) Birmingham of Cocoa Beach, Florida, George (Tammy) Birmingham of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Carol Strait (Randy) of Sioux City and her beloved nephews & nieces and entire extended family. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Harry Grevey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108, on October 21st at 11am.
