Born on October 20, 1934, in Jersey City, NJ, Mary was the daughter of Mary and Albert Faulkner. After graduating from St. Aloysius High School, Mary aspired to work in the burgeoning financial district in Manhattan. She was a customer liaison specialist at JPMorgan Bank on Wall Street. When asked to recall her most memorable moment from her time at JPMorgan, Mary would always reply with a proud, beaming smile: “Oh—meeting General MacArthur!”
In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Albert E. Mullin Jr., upon his return from military service. After starting their family together in New Jersey, they moved to Rochester, NY, and later to Acton, MA, for her husband’s career. She was an active member of the Acton Women’s Club, where she served as publicist.
They moved from Acton to New Seabury, where they entertained their family and friends on Cape Cod. In the 1990s, they moved to Naples, Florida. Most recently she insisted on maintaining a Naples Daily News subscription so she could do sudoku and crossword puzzles, read the comics, and the daily obituaries. She was an avid football fan who loved rooting for Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Her friends and family will fondly remember her quick, dry wit, often enjoyed over a 5:00 PM cocktail.
Mary is predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Faulkner. She is survived by her husband, Albert E. Mullin Jr.; her daughter, Karen Mullin (Timothy); her grandson, Alexander Mullin (Christine); and her granddaughter, Perri Anderson (Jonathan).
She courageously lived with dementia during the last year of her life and was grateful to the team at Avow Hospice for her care.
