

She was born on March 27, 1921, to John and Emmie Cannon in Jay, Florida. She and her family moved to Mobile, Alabama where she grew up.
In 1941, Mildred met William (Bill) Sims while she was visiting a friend at the hospital in Mobile. Bill and Mildred married in December of that same year. Later they relocated to Los Angeles, California where they lived for several years before finally moving to Naples in 1955. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage until Bill’s passing in 1970.
Five years later she met Homer Jones at church when he asked her out for coffee. They married in December, 1975. She and Homer were blessed to have 27 years together before he passed in 2002.
Mildred is survived by her children Arthur Sims, David (Anne) Sims, Carol (Bill) Craft; step-children Anton (Lorraine) Jones, Marsha Gale (George) Cox, Sherra (Rick) Winesett, (Mostafa El-Sayed); 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and sister Patricia Cannon Stephens.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, William (Bill) Sims and Homer Jones; step-daughter Janice El-Sayed; daughter in-law Betty Joe Sims; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; her parents; and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to services at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
