Robert J. "Bob" Bayruns, age 63 of Naples, Florida, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Beloved husband of Maureen (nee Strange), devoted father of Christopher Bayruns and Dr. Courtney Bayruns, son of the late Francis J. Sr. and the late Mildred (nee Shuster), brother of the late Francis J. Jr. (Denise), Theresa (Charlie) Tocco, Steven (Eileen), Timothy (Monica), Patricia (Rodger) Crocker, John (Angelina), Theodore (Ronnie), and Nancy (Joe) Sklencar, brother-in-law to Thomas Strange (Christine), uncle to many nieces and nephews, godfather of five, and best friend to Douglas Clayton (Anya).
Born on September 14, 1957, as a young child growing up in Collingswood, New Jersey, Bob developed a love and passion for electronics. Bob earned a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Spring Garden College in Pennsylvania. Bob held various executive engineering positions, was highly respected and recognized in the semi-conductor and electronics industries, had numerous inventions and patents, was published and an accomplished public speaker at conferences, was instrumental in creating companies in New Jersey and California, and travelled the world for business. Eclipsing his career success and contributions, this kind and generous man was most passionate about his high school sweetheart and great love of his life, Maureen, his successful children, brothers and sisters, friends, and spending time at his favorite place - their shore house along the beach in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. Bob often referred to the beach as paradise, where he would walk with his favorite dog Coco, listen to his favorite beach music, or ponder the many mysteries of the universe. Hopefully, the many folks who love Bob so dearly, and will miss him so badly, will take solace knowing that Bob is truly in paradise and is able to demystify the universe.
A private viewing for immediate family only is scheduled for Tuesday at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends are invited to leave messages of remembrance via the Hodges Funeral Home web site. In lieu of flowers, say a prayer for Bob and his family the next time you are standing on a beach.
