Bob graduated from Delphos St. John's High School in Delphos, Ohio in 1958. He became an electrician apprentice at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, Ohio. After several careers, he began working for the post office, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was very dedicated and active in the post office union and enjoyed attending the state and national conventions.
His passions included bowling (in his younger years), golf, watching sporting events on the television, attending dinner theatres, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He never met a stranger and with such charisma and personality, he seemed to know how to talk to everyone he met.
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and eagerly served him through the church. He attended Bible study and was excited about all that he learned. He also served as treasurer and oversaw various projects at the church. Bob was steadfast in his faith and was looking forward to his eternal life with the Lord.
In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by his brother, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, 2 stepchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. He adopted a granddaughter later in life and devoted his efforts into being a strong father figure to her. Bob was predeceased by his parents, brother, son, and stepson.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 24th at Faith Lutheran Church (4150 Goodlette-Frank Rd N, Naples, FL 34103). A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church. All family and friends are invited.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lambs of Faith Preschool at Faith Lutheran Church.
