AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Robert "Rob" Roy McMullen

3 septembre 1943 – 4 octobre 2021
Avis de décès de Robert "Rob" Roy McMullen
AUX SOINS DE

Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens

On October 4, 2021 Robert (Rob) Roy McMullen beloved father of four children passed away at the age of 78.

Rob was born September 3, 1943 in Mt. Vernon, IL son of Charles and Mary McMullen. He attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale and proudly served in the United States Air Force. Rob owned Eureka Lumber Yard before moving his family to Naples, FL to continue his building career. Rob spent his working years as a residential and commercial builder. He worked on projects in Florida, North Carolina and then finished his career in Snellville, Georgia.

Rob the Builder, can he fix it? Yes, he can! If something was broke, you call the guy with the giant white dog. There wasn’t much he didn’t know about and he was always willing to lend a hand. He was known for his kindness as much as his story telling. It is rumored that Rob had over 15 Hole in 1’s in his life and that rumor increases daily. In reality it’s probably true. Rob was a scratch golfer, an average poker player and an extraordinary friend, brother and father. During his retirement Rob moved with his best friend Anchor, a giant Great Pyrenees dog, to Tanglewood in Sebring, FL. Everyone knew Anchor and Rob from their nightly golf cart rides around the community and their weekly golf games. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his children, Shani Hewitt (Tom), Sarah Beyrent (Gabriel), Rachel McMullen, and Michael McMullen (Cheryl); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings Herb, Rosalyn, Chuck, Steve, and Patsy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by his children.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his memory.
