
Seongbin Pak, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 after a short illness in Naples, FL. He was born on July 14, 1924 in Sam Ho, North Korea. He escaped North Korea and fought alongside the United States Army 24th infantry division in the Korean War. He received his Medical Degree from Seoul National University. After immigrating to America he became a resident at St. Claire’s Hospital in NYC and later a board certified anesthesiologist practicing at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. After retiring, he and his wife Berniece spent winters in Naples, FL and summers in Ridgewood, NJ also visiting children & grandchildren across the country. Seongbin was an avid tennis player and runner, having completed the NY Marathon at the age of 60… and a loyal die-hard NY Giants fan. He enjoyed family and friends, sharing good times, good food and good wine.
He will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife Berniece, his sons, John (Parise) Pak, and Michael Pak, and stepchildren, Russ (Fran) Delseni, Lois Delseni, and Donna Delseni, and his sisters Hae Sook Pak, and Jung Sook Pak. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Rhys, Hudson, Craig, Brad, Lauren, Christy, and Micah, and nine great grandchildren, Anderson, Noah, Eli, Bear, Silas, Parker, Finn, Rowan, Cleo, all of whom made him extremely proud and very happy.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
