Hello Tom and Sally and Lisa and Mrs. Tarpey, and all the other Tarpeys who have come along since I first met the family many years ago in those early high school days.  Yours was always a warm and loving (and often loud and boisterously fun) household. I always felt very welcomed in your home, whether it was just hanging out downstairs, or out on the pool deck, or during one of the Christmas Eve parties before we headed to Midnight Mass and after-mass drink at Papa Bears.  Those long ago times, which seem to so innocent now, were the spiritual and emotional foundation that Mr. and Mrs. Tarpey (though I am old enough now to use their first names, I still feel funny calling them Tom and Phyllis) gave their children, and by extension the friends of their children.  I was one of those lucky friends who gained more than I realized by the love Tom Sr. gave to his family. Although I was never able to see Mr. and Mrs. T, since they moved to Florida, I will always be grateful for the memories I have of your family and the love you shared with all those who knew you.

I'm very sorry to hear of Tom's passing.  Tom (Jr.) is one of the most noble, decent friends I have, and it is a tribute to bith you and Tom Sr., and how you raised him.  Tom Sr.'s legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren.  You and Tom Sr., are in our prayers.
