Wava J. Botero, 79, of Naples passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born January 19, 1932 to Irma and Samuel Riley in Nappanee, IN, Wava was an avid member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Elkhart, IN where she also taught as a teacher in the three local schools. She enjoyed coaching the cheerleading squads where she taught many girls baton twirling. Wava had a love for art in which she excelled in painting. Her love of art did not end there for she was very active in raising funds for charities such as the Elkhart Symphony Orchestra. She was also given the honor of being named “Ms. Senior Indiana” of 2008.
Wava is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Dr. Jesus M.; three loving sons Devon (Doreen) Shafer of Hackensack, MN, Frederick (Denise) of Macon, GA and Phillip A. (Elise) of Charleston, SC; 6 cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31st at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens between the hours of 11:30 – 12:30pm with service and entombment to follow.
