Robert "Bob" G. Humkey

Robert G. “Bob” Humkey, 74, passed away August 28, 2020 at The Historic Villages of Silvercrest in New Albany, Indiana. The son of the late Charles E. and Kathryne Graves Humkey, Sr., Bob was born May 28, 1946 in Winchester, Kentucky. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School (1964) and University of Louisville Speed Scientific School (1969). Bob worked at Dupont for 25 years and later with his brother, started Development Dynamics (consulting). He also worked for Tri State Foam in Martinsville, Virginia. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight, and was instrumental in founding the Pregnancy Care Center located in Martinsville, Virginia. He was an avid golfer and a huge fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandy (Miller) Humkey; son, Chris Humkey (Leigh); daughter, Jennifer Humkey Grooms; grandchildren, Emily Humkey Dann (Robert), Ben Humkey (Samantha), Tyler Grooms, Amber Grooms, Ashley Grooms; sisters, Betty Nunan, Kathryne Hazelwood; brother, Charles Humkey, Jr. (Mary); numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. A Rosary Service will begin Friday at 7:15 pm in the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, New Albany with private burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, Kentucky.
