Aline Reese Collins

Our beloved mother, Aline Reese Collins, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22,2025 at Colonial Oaks Living Center in Metairie. Aline was 93 years old. She now joins her beloved husband William "Billy" in eternity.

Aline was born on November 7, 1931, to parents Henry and Catherine Reese. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, William Collins; and daughters, Gayle and Cathy. William and Aline celebrated 71 years of marriage before his passing. Aline is survived by her children, Brenda Seiler (John), Cheryl Collins, Ellen Meyers (Michael), and William Collins (Florence). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Aline graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School in New Orleans and was active in their many reunions over the years.

Aline and Billy were parishioners at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Jefferson for over 50 years. Aline was a devout Catholic, praying the rosary daily. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. She was also a dedicated volunteer.

Aline was a member of St. Agnes Altar Society, the adult choir, and served in the school cafeteria for over 40 years. Billy and Aline received the St. Louis Medallion for their service to St. Agnes.

Aline was a "gamer". She loved playing Bingo, Bonco, Dominoes, and Yahtzee card games, and watching all sports. Aline's last years were spent at Colonial Oaks where she made new friends and enjoyed playing Bingo and attending parties with the sweet staff. She will be missed!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, June 27, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12 PM with a Mass following at 2 PM. Aline will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery immediately after the Mass.
