Ann T. Galvan

Ann Galvan, 89, slipped away from us on May 30, 2025 at the Chateau de Notre Dame in New Orleans after a long illness. She called Miami, Florida her home as she was raised and spent her adult life there. Born Ann Trilby Valley on August 23, 1935 in Honolulu, HI she was the only child of the late Edward Valley of Muskegon, Michigan and the late Gladys Ann Dossat Valley of New Orleans, Louisiana. She leaves to mourn her passing a first cousin, Suzanne Dossat Russell and her family, Marvin Russell, Jonathan D. Russell, and Allison Russell Waldron. Ann is fondly remembered by those who treasured her in life and who knew her to be a sweet, kind, and generous person. These would include her late husband’s niece, Dr. Julia Delgado, and Ann’s lifelong friends, Shirley McDonald, Gwen Medeiros, and Virginia Grant. All of these cared for her as she cared for them, and they all remained in touch after Ann’s move to New Orleans for her care. Ann was predeceased by her parents, by her husband, Wesley Galvan, and their daughter, Leslie Ann Galvan. The Russell family wishes to thank the Chateau and its Skilled Nursing staff of the 4th floor for their care and kindnesses for our cousin, “Miss Miami”. We also wish to thank the staff of the Catholic Hospice team members, especially Hanna, Jeanne, Bailey, and Melanie for their concern and frequent calls, as well as the weekend substitute personnel. A graveside service will be held in Miami, FL at a future date.
